Stop Three - Music Box Steps
Google Map for this location
Yes, MORE STEPS! These are the steps that Stan and Ollie hauled the piano up in the classic short "The Music Box" from 1932. Unlike the Stooges Steps, these are located in between two buildings on a crowded street. I've read that people frequently confuse the two sets of steps, because they are very similar. But another difference between the two is that these are actually marked with a street sign and a plaque embedded in one of the lower stairs. The story goes that the plaque was defaced with grafitti within hours of it being placed, but fortunately you can still read it. It's a shame that stuff like this happens.

We parked the element a couple doors away and walked back. If the street sign wasn't there, we might have missed them. Just like the earlier set of stairs, there has been a lot of construction in this area in the years since the film was made, and the foliage seems even denser than at the previous set. It's almost impossible to spot landmarks to compare the two.

I, of course, had to climb these as well. Funny thing is, these were easier to climb than the Stooges steps earlier in the day. I certainly got my workout that day!

Again, the top doesn't look like it did in the short. That was obviously a studio set.

As you can see from the pictures, Stephie and Chris didn't even wait for me this time. When I hit the bottom of the stairs, Chris was heading back to the Element, and Stephie was talking to two dogs that were on the balcony a couple doors away. We climbed back into the vehicle and headed towards our next stop.
